Some Serious Shyte!

Thursday is here and I can just about get ready to breathe a little sigh of relief, one more day and the first week of summer school will officially be over! [4 more weeks to go baybee!!]. Anyhow, how is everybody out in blogland doing? I'll be making some afternoon rounds to check y'all, don't worry the little ugly dog hasn't forgotten his friends!

Now, on that note, y'all my friends, right? Sure, we do have misunderstandings and dissenting opinions sometimes, but y'all don't make a habit of driving to the houses of other bloggers you may have disagreements with and shoot them, right? Good, I didn't think so! Why the paranoia? Well, I was surfing a porn news site this afternoon and came across this article about some dude on a message board who got into an argument with two other dudes and ended up borrowing a shotgun, driving to their houses, and basically cleaning their clocks, if you catch my drift. You can read the entire article here if you'd like.

To be honest with you, the one thing that disturbs me about the US is the fact that firearms seem to be such an integral part of their cultural identity! I sometimes have a hard time dealing with the fact that I can walk in to any Wal-Mart and purchase a rifle for under $300. Did y'all see that Michael Moore documentary Bowling for Columbine? There was one scene where he went to a bank that was offering a free rifle with every new account opened! That's some serious shyte right there people!

Now, I not a fan of guns, don't want one, don't need one, can't use one...I also respect the right to bear arms; however I do have a serious problem where it is so easy to come by a weapon and some laws governing weapons just don't make sense. For example, I never understood why it is that you don't need a license to own a rifle, but you need a license to have a handgun (i.e. concealed weapon). If someone is going to shoot you, does it really matter whether or not you can see the weapon a priori? A bullet is a bullet is a bullet! Oh well, maybe because it's not my culture, I don't get it. What do you all think about weapons?

I guess it becomes an as necessary evil. I don't want one at this point, don't need one, but I can use one.
Like you I could never understand the US laws about firearms. Buy an AK47 or M16 without question but need a lic. to buy a pistol. Strange indeed. probably should need a lic. to own any gun.

Agree with that one 100% Scratchie! Have to have a license for any damn firearm you want to purchase!

Agree with you...the US is too heavily armed. Too easy to get a gun there, yet still they get all alarmed when school pickney a kill off other students and teachers.

Personally, I don't want one, can use one, but not drawn to them at all. They gurantee you nothing. Need to have it on you 24/7. Not saying that they may help to protect you, but if you don't have the element of surprise, it may well be of no use to you. Not my thing at all...but at the same time, I don't have issues with others having them, provided they are sensible about the way the carry them. In other words, sensible firearm holders don't have them on display and showing them around, pulling on trigger and all that serious shyte! Zimi!?

BTW, if you vex me, I wouldn't waste a gunshot on you, I'd just mek a vet put you outta you misery...lethal injection my dawg! ;-) Jus cool. Dr. D.

lol, I kno a couple a people on message boards that i used ta frequent back in the days that i wouldnt have minded lashing wid two big rocks but I wun go as far as shooting them lol

its kind of scary that this guy got their addresses and went after them like that . oh and i also dont understand the whole make guns so readily available. I could see the need for that law back in the 1700 and 1800s when America was still largly undeveloped they were fighting british and indians and people were still hunting regularly but now I think those laws antiquated.

I am definitely your friend :)

Being the peaceful Canadian girlfriend that I am, I do not see any necessity for owning a gun. Up here we use the police force for our protection and so far its working pretty good.

Hope you have a very nice weekend ;)

Missed ya!!!

Thanks to the 5th Amendemt, is it..the right to bear arms.. But Americans forgot that we not living in the wild, wild, west anymore..eventhough somethimes it seems like we are. How pitiful for the so-called most developed nation in the world.
